I love to dress differently in every destination as much as I love a theme party. While suits are a personal favorite, they never make it into the suitcase for a Greek island trip.
I’m definitely not one of those people who travel with 2 pair of trousers and 3 tops for a week-long trip. I want to take as many clothes with me as I can! In Athens, for instance, it's common to change outfits twice a day and I do the same while traveling, I love the feeling of wearing something fresh every day. Light, airy dresses are what I aim for, along with 1 or 2 fancy outfits, depending on the exact destination.
To an island, I know that the first outfit of the day will always be a swimsuit with a sarong. That leaves me with extra shoe space and maybe 2 extra dresses, just in case.
During the day
It’s extremely rare to not spend the entire day on the beach. I pack around 8 swimsuits (they are small, they fit everywhere!)
So, yes, nothing else to see here. The swimsuits that I always have with me:

During the evening

One of the most easy summer shirtdresses in my opinion. I have it in both white + black and I usually pack both. I wear them either belted or loose like that. Some destinations see it in the daylight, while the most relaxed ones see it in the evening.
Another airy dress, because, after all, I am on vacation. The same feeling as the shirtdress above but with a few straps more here and there. The pointed flats make it feel more elevated than it would with, let's say, classic flat sandals.
After 2-3 days on the island, I start to miss the city. So, I dress up. This is my favourite pair of shorts in a while. Firstly, I love that it’s a pair of shorts instead of a skirt. I feel more relaxed and free to move, which is important because when I’m wearing it, I can’t stop moving. I practically dance my way everywhere. It’s a ridiculous sight to witness, but do I have fun? YES.
There is no secondly.
We are now on the 4th day, so I’m back on island mode (the city can wait). A kaftan you can practically live in. It’s so roomy that you can have guests if you feel like it.
The upside of a summer carry-on suitcase is that the clothes are as light as the shoes are. For winter, I have to pick a pair that goes with everything and can be worn day to night and just go with that.
Travel days don’t count as outfit days for me and I certainly don’t rewear those clothes. It’s always a pair of Levi’s + a simple T-shirt + Havaianas.
