Valisia’s
No-belt survival mood

There’s something quietly powerful about a long T-shirt and a vest dress —it hints at the 90s, but with sharper lines. The “Τριπόταμος” dress brings structure to the soft organic “14” tee, without trying too hard. I should have worn a belt (not doing so feels like a personal betrayal), but with 40°C outside, I had to make peace with practicality. So I looped the belt through the dress’s buttonholes and called it a day. Sometimes fashion has to compromise. This was one of those sweaty moments.
Lightly layered memories

A little nod to fashion school days, when layering was a lifestyle. Here, it’s done in the breeziest way possible starting with the long linen Romero skirt —cool, and effortless. On top 2 T-shirts: The “14” is cinched with a light rubber belt for shape, while the “10” sits boxy and cropped on top. It’s all about playing with levels without overheating. It’s layering, yes, but the summer edition. Thought-out but not overworked. A studied kind of comfort. Fashion school spirit, minus the sweating —with a long black bow on the ponytail for that final dark girly touch.
Denim Games

A playful tee meets a little styling mischief. I started with my vintage oversized Wrangler jeans and the “1” T-shirt —simple, slouchy, fun. Then came the twist: a vintage strapless zippered denim top, worn as a belt to cinch the waist and flirt with proportions. The tee’s lighthearted print gets a grown-up contrast with the snatched shape. Casual, but with a wink. It’s giving early 2000s energy, but edited. And honestly? I hate 2000s fashion… but somewhere deep inside me, a little Christina or Britney is definitely lurking, ready to hit the dance floor.

T-shirts are a life-saviour during the Athenian summer heat but sometimes you just want to look a little more put-together, you know?
I don’t always, sometimes I just want to be left under the air conditioner to just melt away, you do know.
Night out naiveté

So I chose the “1” T-shirt (my favourite from our Tethys collection, because -you know- my boyfriend designed the embroidery when he was 4) to combine with one of our dressier skirts from our Melbourne collection. I would normally go all sheer (hence “The Futlie City” blouse), but since it’s summer and the mood is more laid-back, I thought that the childish embroidery would be fun and playful. Then I tied a silk mantón (always check that the composition is silk if you are searching for one) around my waist, carefully arranging its embroidery into a smiley face. If even one person notices, my work here is done.
Early afternoon walk in (let’s pretend) Hydra

In winter, everything I wear is high-waisted, and my blouses or shirts are always tucked in. Summer, though, is a whole different story. As I’ve said before, I need my clothes to not touch me —so I fully embrace letting my tops hang loose over a skirt or a pair of shorts. I used brooches (the way I usually use pins when I play around with fabric manipulation) and ended up creating a draped T-shirt. Bonus points: one of the brooches is a crazy-haired fork."
It’s the week-end, I can do what I want

Last year’s revelation was discovering that wearing men’s swim shorts as regular shorts in the summer is airy, comfortable—and, let’s face it, it looks cool. A revelation from several years ago was that a striped men’s shirt is an unexpectedly handy styling tool: you can wear it if (lol) it gets breezy, tie it around your waist as a belt, wear it as a skirt to the beach instead of a pareo, throw it on open over a swimsuit, etc. And yes, my penny loafers are men’s too. As I said, it’s the weekend—I can do what I want, even dress like a boy.

Dressed for the heatstroke.
There’s no denying the timeless appeal of an oversized, crisp white T-shirt and jeans for an off-duty look. But when all I want to do is go outside naked and cry from the heat, jeans are out, and shorts are in, because if you’re going to suffer, you might as well suffer with ventilation.

And I’m not talking about any shorts, but micro shorts. Paired with an oversized tee tucked in just right, they create contrast: volume up top, bare legs below, means maximum impact with minimal effort. To test this theory, I wore the ‘14’ oversized organic cotton T-shirt in white and kept the palette light (great for reflecting sunlight). I tucked it into the tonal ‘Cavillace’ shorts in ivory cotton canvas. I threw on a classic Ralph Lauren cap and Timberland boat shoes in pale blue and tobacco brown (accordingly), a slightly preppy touch, and essential for surviving long walks under the relentless sun while staying protected.
I call this look “leave me dancing with myself.”

Maybe it’s the unexpected combo of the colourful, child-painting-style embroidery on the ‘1’ T-shirt paired with the sheer silk ‘Suite V’ shorts, which makes it playful on top, seductive enough on the bottom. Together, they create that sweet spot between afternoon and evening. It’s a perfect transitional outfit - not too much for a casual walk, but not too little for spontaneous late-night drinks and dancing. Black sunglasses to pretend I’m not making eye contact, strappy heels because my ankles deserved their moment. Final verdict: 10/10 outfit for existing in multiple timelines at once.
Somewhere between date night + IDK
A classic black T-shirt has an uncanny ability to rescue an otherwise too night-out look, especially when you’re unsure how much effort to put in. It’s the easiest way to tone down something overtly evening.

I started with one of my favourite black embroidered silk mini dresses. But, not quite ready to fully commit to the sensual potential of its thin spaghetti straps, I layered the - also embroidered - “10” black tee on top made from organic cotton. The key was tucking a belt underneath and cinching the T-shirt from the inside, gathering it just enough to create that ambiguous line where you can’t tell if it’s a tee and skirt or a dress pretending to be one. I finished with strappy black heeled sandals to elongate the legs (because that’s why you wear a mini in the first place) and left everything else simple.
Stay cool!
